How To Make Every Wolfpack Minifig Look Different

Wolfpack is my favorite LEGO Castle faction because I love the idea of a ragtag pack of bandits, as opposed to the coordinated, matching look of the Black Falcons, Lion Knights, or Horse Knights. But my problem with them is that straight out of the box, the gang looks less like raiders and more like a uniformed unit. In my headcanon, they joined up one at a time, not recruited en masse and handed matching outfits and gear.

So I wanted to see how many distinct characters I could make using official LEGO parts, a few custom pad printed parts, and Minifig Realms accessories while still looking like Wolfpack.

(And let’s set aside that advertising your outlaw status with a giant emblem on your chest is a questionable life choice; we’re keeping the torsos.)

Packlord

The head of the bandit group, the Packlord is a strategist. He’s a grizzled veteran, with the grey hairs and scars to prove it. He’s clad in a mix of chainmail and thick leather armor.

The Packlord is made up mostly of the Beastmaster minifig, but with a few touches that make him distinctive: the shoulder armor, hair, and cape. The shoulder armor is great, but it can only equip a katana or pirate sword, not a longsword. It also limits head movement because that reddish brown bandana is fixed in place.

You can buy the shoulder armor on LEGO’s Pick a Brick site, but it’s marked to leave the platform starting this month, so act fast. If it’s gone already, Bricklink should have them too. Links to parts below:

Raiders

Ouch, cramp! Cramp!

These two feral fighters can attack with either raw power or finesse, depending on what they’ve got equipped. The brown Raider whacks at enemies with his axe at full power, while the grey Raider slashes with a longsword. Both weapons can be stowed using Minifig Realms accessories so they can hold more loot in their hands.

Stalker

Fierce looking Wolfpack

With a longbow for range and dagger for the finish when a target gets close, the Stalker is a stealth-kill figure.

The longbow is brick-built from 3 parts: 2 horns and a lightsaber hilt. The connections allowed me to use an axe strap to hold the bow over the back, resting on the official LEGO quiver.

The Dagger Sheath Skirt in black over plain reddish brown legs gives it a nice two-tone look.

Skirmisher

This is beneath me

A shorter bow means shorter range, and the short sword instead of a dagger means he’s built to actually engage in melee after loosing a few arrows, not just finish a kill quietly. This is a hit-and-run, mobile-in-the-trees figure.

Scout

The pack’s eyes ahead of the main group, the Scout marks trails and counts guards. They do light reconnaissance work.

Infiltrator

Another kind of recon role, the Infiltrator goes deep into towns and camps. He can walk among citizens without attracting undue attention. His only tell is the Wolfpack brooch.

Vanguard

Bounty about to be had

Equipped with more armor than his packmates, the Vanguard is the front-line muscle who gets into the thick of it.

This Wolfpack bandit is a custom print by medieval specialist, Cultbricks. These parts were included in my review of Cultbricks and other pad printers a few months ago, so these may not be in stock anymore. Watch the site or follow them on Instagram for new items and restocks.

Assassin

With the just a leather tabard, the Assassin can move stealthily and find his target quickly.

I did an arm swap on this, changing the black ones for dark tan to match the legs. I’m not sold on this look entirely, so I made a few variations in the video below.

The whole look

I filmed 360-degree turnarounds of each Wolfpack minifig so you can see how they look from all angles.

Where to get Wolfpack parts

The Wolfpack torsos left LEGO’s Pick a Brick platform when the set they came in, Medieval Town Square 10332, retired months ago, but you can still find them in abundance on Bricklink for about 1-2 euro or dollars.

The dual-molded black and reddish brown legs that I use in a lot of these minifigs as well as the shoulder armor on the Packlord are slated to exit Pick a Brick starting this month, so if you want factory fresh parts or in larger quantities than what individual Bricklink sellers might have, then rush to Pick a Brick now.

Here are direct links to those two parts:
