This October, LEGO released a wave of seven minifigures at Build a Minifigure stations in LEGO retail stores: 17th Century Sword Fighter, Tooth Fairy, Surfer Pirate, Robot Costume Girl, Hip Hop Fan, Caveman, and Kid with Rocking Horse.
Of those, only the Sword Fighter interested me so I got 3 of them to complete a box. I used to collect all the BAM that came out, but frankly, some of the parts are things I would never use anyway, so I’m more selective now.
I quickly went to work to see what other characters I could put together from the parts I already had and accessories from my shop, Minifig Realms. I came up with a few to expand my kingdom: a Noble, a Swordmaster, and a Green King.
Sword Fighter

But first, let’s take a look at the Sword Fighter itself, straight out of the box. He’s officially a 17th Century Sword Fighter, and he certainly has many of the extravagant details of that period, including the ornate waistcoat decorated with sashes and ribbons, and trunk hose legs. For accessories, he comes with a fencing sword and a tricorn hat.
I didn’t notice until I had the minifigs in hand that the pleated details on the trunk hose legs were dark green, which was going to limit what I could use these with from my collection. But I ended up using the Sword Fighter’s legs as the seed part for my minifig builds.
Noble

The Noble is my favorite configuration of the three, mostly because I got to use the hair from Mama Fratelli from The Goonies 21363 set. When I spotted it on Pick a Brick a few months back, I knew I could make an Early Modern Age character out of it.
Underneath the black robe, the ruffled blouse from the Mushroom Sprite CMF 25 peeks through. The legs are the seed part from the Sword Fighter BAM.
- Hat and hair: Mama Fratelli
- Torso: Mushroom Sprite CMF 25
- Legs: Sword Fighter BAM Oct 2026
- Accessories: Minifig Realms Robe

SwordMaster

The Swordmaster is a weapons trainer for nobles and royalty. Just what any young royal needs!
In my realm, the Swordmaster’s a foreigner, so I’ve given him dark, lush, and wavy hair.
- Hair: Soccer Goalkeeper CMF 29
- Head: Sword Fighter BAM 2021
- Torso: Medieval Horse Knight Castle 31168 Blacksmith
- Arms: Yuppie CMF 17 (alternatively, Newspaper Kid CMF 24)
- Legs: Sword Fighter BAM Oct 2026

Green King

And finally, a Green King. I only have 2 Frightening Knights in my collection so it’s a bit excessive that they need a king, but the color scheme works so here we are.
- Torso: Frightening Knight CMF 15 (alternatively, Minifigure Vending Machine 21358 Griffin Knight with Dark Green Arms)
- Legs: Sword Fighter BAM Oct 2026
- Accessories: Minifig Realms Cloak

Where to get the Sword Fighter Minifigure
Like with any BAM character, the Sword Fighter is only available in physical LEGO stores. Later, you’ll be able to find it on Bricklink but it’s still unlisted as of this writing.
You can buy 3 minifigs from the Build a Minifigure station in any configuration you want: 1 hair/hat part, 1 head, 1 torso, 1 pair of legs, and 1 accessory. Some stores let you buy any parts so long as there are only 15 parts in the box.
The BAM stock changes frequently so the Sword Fighter could be gone by the next wave coming on November 1.
