Here’s the August roundup of 10 most upvoted photos shared on r/studshooters, a community dedicated to LEGO and brick toy photography. On Reddit, the community upvotes posts anonymously, so this is a showcase of the images that resonated most with fellow photographers and LEGO fans alike.
As usual, only one photo per photographer is featured here even if someone earned multiple spots in the top rankings.
Like the previous months before, brick-built environments were hugely popular with the crowd. There’s something special about seeing minifigs immersed in worlds built specifically for them! Amazing to witness the huge amount of effort that goes into these builds that will sometimes only live on in one or two photos.
This roundup also had a lot of dramatic lighting, atmospheric effects, and novel characters in the photos.
In other news, Stud Shooters grew by another 150 members this sweltering month, bringing the community to 6000 toy photographers. Love to see the interest in our hobby grow!
Our mod CrispySan ran the Everyday Objects photo challenge where toy photographers had to transform ordinary household items into something surreal or extra large.

Photo challenges are great way to push yourself to explore other genres, and by doing that, you unlock more creativity. The next photo challenge is underway and it’s a dystopian theme run by Edgy_Mando so head to the Stud Shooters sub on Reddit to join in!
